A 3 hour workshop, for women, gender-expansive, and LGBTQIA+ people, exploring movement activated sound.
Join Lou Barnell (2021 Oram Award winner) and Simon East (aka Thunkist) and rewire your body’s connection to sound and explore composition using our body as an instrument.
This three-hour workshop is dedicated to using Ableton Live and Simon’s Flowfal technology to produce movement activated sound for live music or dance performances, using affordable wearable technology (e.g. Android watches).
There are 12 spaces available, open to women, non-binary, gender-expansive, and LGBTQIA+ people.
This is a hands-on experience: you'll be assisted to use Ableton Live, Ableton Push and Flowfal to create movement activated pieces using wearables.
To get the most out of this workshop some previous experience with Ableton or another DAW, is recommended.
All equipment will be provided. We always ask participants to bring their own wired headphones to the workshops.
