Safer Spaces Policy 

Fat Out Fest stands against any form of ableism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia. xenophobia & racism. 

 

Any form of sexual harassment, physical violence or discrimination is unacceptable at our festival. 

 

This includes unwanted sexual comments or contact, verbal abuse and use of threatening or intimidating language. 

 

Should you experience any form of harassment at Fat Out Fest please make a member of our team know. We will treat everything confidentially and will aim to rectify the situation so you can continue to enjoy the festival. The four Fat Out Fest directors have all undergone Good Night Out training and all our employees have been trained on our safer space policy. 

 

You will be able to identify a person who works directly for Fat Out Fest by our orange lanyards. You can also speak to any member of our security team and they will contact a member of the core team.

Venue Access

 

 

Salford Museum & Art Gallery


Venue Address: Salford Museum & Art Gallery, Crescent, Salford M5 4WU

 

Salford Museum & Art Gallery has a ramp into the building. 
There is a lift available which provides step free access to all floors, the lift entrance is 90cm wide, the depth is 138cm.
There will be seating provided for all performances within the venue.

Islington Mill


Venue Address: Islington Mill, Regent Trading Estate, off Oldfield Rd, Salford M5 4DE

 

This is a new entrance to Islington Mill. We are no longer using the James street entrance for events. Access is off Oldfield Road, through Regents Trading Estate.

All spaces in Islington Mill are wheelchair accessible. 
The entrance to the building is over cobbled pavement. 
There is a lift to access the fifth floor. 
There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor and the fifth floor.

Working Class Movement Library

Venue Address: Salford Museum & Art Gallery, Crescent, Salford M5 4WU

 

The library has a ramp at the rear of the building and a ramp to the event space.

There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor of the library and in the event space.

 

 

Peel Hall 

Venue Address: Peel Building, Salford Western Gateway, Salford M5 4WX

 

Peel Hall is wheelchair accessible however you will need to be shown the route by one of our team. Please email georgie@fromtheother.com if you require a completely step free entrance. 

 

There are 11 steps into the building. 

There is an accessible toilet & toilets with cubicles on the same level as the venue. 

Toilets with urinals are down 24 steps with lift access. 

The venue seating is tiered. There are 17 steps down to the stage from the entrance. 

Accessible seating is located at the back of the venue. There is a step free accessible toilet on this level.
